Fitting Instructions

Please note: This product includes the HayStation Frame only. If you don't already own a Medium Hay Net, simply add one using the "Pairs With" option above. This allows you to choose the hay net mesh size that best suits your horse and feeding requirements.

Attaching Your Hay Net

  1. Unscrew and open the HayStation frame.
  2. Remove the drawstring from your Medium hay net, as it is not required when using the frame.
  3. Thread every second mesh hole around the opening of the frame until the net is evenly attached.
  4. Close the frame and securely tighten the screw.
  5. Adjust the netting around the frame so it sits evenly and neatly.
  6. Your HayStation is now assembled and ready to be mounted in your preferred location for convenient, hassle-free hay net filling.

The frame can be mounted to a fence line, rail, panel, stable wall, or yard using either the included mounting brackets or the supplied cable ties. The cable ties provide a quick and simple installation option, making the feeder easy to relocate between paddocks, stables, yards, or feeding areas whenever required.

Once installed, the feeder can be filled conveniently from the opposite side of the fence or rail, allowing you to add hay without entering the horse's enclosure. Simply load one or two biscuits (flakes/slabs) of hay at a time until the desired amount is reached. This makes feeding safer, quicker, and more convenient, while eliminating the need to enter the paddock and dodge a hungry horse, and tie up hay nets from their drawstrings.

Our Medium Hay Nets in this setup will typically hold approximately 4 - 5 biscuits (flakes/slabs) of hay and are available in mesh sizes of 2cm, 3cm, 4cm, and 6cm to suit a wide range of feeding requirements.

These versatile feeding frames allow hay to be offered at various heights and locations, providing flexibility for use in stables, yards, and paddocks.

Safety Note: For shod horses, the feeder should be mounted high enough that the empty hanging net remains out of reach of horseshoes. Similar care should be taken with foals and small ponies to ensure the net is positioned beyond hoof reach, or that a mesh size smaller than the hoof size is selected.

Cable ties are included for quick and easy installation. We have also supplied quality saddle clamps, screws, and mounting hardware to allow the feeder frame to be secured more permanently to metal or timber rails, fences, or walls.

A permanent mounting option is recommended for horses that are particularly enthusiastic or forceful when feeding, as repeated pulling on the hay net may place additional strain on cable ties and could eventually cause them to fail.

The HayStation frames pair exceptionally well with our knotless hay nets. They will also fit the knotted netting, however they are slightly more fiddly to feed on. Once they have been fed onto the ring, they will still function perfectly well.

Please Note: This is a frame only, no slow feed hay net is included.
